How long does the show go for?

The show runs for a total of 100 minutes, including a short half time intermission.

Does your show have animals?

No, we are a contemporary circus, which means acts are predominately acrobatic based.

Do I need to make a booking?

Advance reservations are strongly recommended. Elevated seating often sells out in advance, so booking is advised to avoid disappointment. Walk-ins are welcome, subject to availability.

How do I book tickets?

There are a range of ways you can make a booking…

1. You can make an ONLINE booking. Your seats are reserved and you pay when you collect the tickets, any time up to half an hour before the show for which you have booked.
2. You can call us on 021 CIRQUE 2, that’s 021 247 7832. Your seats are reserved and you pay when you collect the tickets, any time up to half an hour before the show for which you have booked.
3. You can book by credit card through Eventfinder.

Please NOTE: Cirque Grande reserves the right to sell unpaid bookings from half an hour before show time.

How much are tickets?

Ticket prices depend on which seating category you choose, and age of the guests. Check out the pricing tab for full price list.

What is classified as a ‘child’?

Child tickets can be purchased for those aged between 2 and 14 years.

Do under 2’s need to pay?

Under 2’s are free but must sit on an adult’s lap. Pushchairs and car seats cannot be taken into the seating arena but can be stored inside the Big Top.

Are there any discounts for Students, Seniors or Beneficiaries?

Concession prices are available when valid ID is shown.

What seating options are available?

The first two rows are allocated VIP seating and give you the closest view of the action. Ringside seating is allocated seating in the 3rd and 4th rows. Elevated deluxe and elevated side view are not allocated and are first in first served basis. Check out the pricing tab for a full seating plan.

What are the performers background?

Our circus show presents a performing arts/ theatre show, presented by world-class gymnasts. Our performers come from the biggest academy for performing arts and show biz in Australasia. Many acts you will see in our show are award-winning acts from international acrobatic competitions. Our performers tour the whole world and visit lots of different countries, but we are lucky to have them with us in New Zealand for a tour.

How old are the performers?

Currently, the youngest performer in our show is 10 years old. The younger performs are required to do half a day of schooling and the other half training. Majority of our younger performers have their family travelling with them, as well as teachers, trainers and a qualified cook caring for all their needs. All performers, regardless of age are paid appropriately.

Is wheelchair access available?

The Big Top has an accessibility ramp and designated seating for wheelchairs in the Ringside section. Please inform our ticket office when you are making a booking that you require Wheelchair access.

What age group is the show suitable for?

Ideal entertainment is for ALL AGES, from 2 to 102! There will be something for everybody to enjoy. Under 2’s are welcome and parents are able to escort children to the marquee entrance if their little bottoms can’t stay on the seats.

Is there food available to buy on site?

The onsite circus canteen offers a range of snacks and beverages to enjoy during the show. From popcorn, candyfloss, ice creams, hot dogs and lollies.

May I take photos and videos during the show?

Definitely! We welcome patrons to take photos and videos during the show. We hope that the photos and videos shorter than 3 minutes will be shared on social media and tag @cirquegrandenz (Facebook, Instagram). It’s a great help in building more awareness and attracting more guests to the show so that we can keep the artists working.
NOTE: The flash must be turned off as it can be distracting and dangerous for the artists.

How noisy is the show?

Our sound design is intended to complement our show, and our PA also provided announcements for the benefit of the audience. We have set sound levels for audience enjoyment, which are well within limits imposed by sound restrictions. We use music to complement the acts, there are NO sound effects, explosions, bass or subwoofer speakers.

Are their toilets available?

Yes! We are a fully self-sufficient travelling village and provide a toilet trailer for our customers to use.
